Drum cleaning

vendredi 17 avril 2015

Recently had the air conditioner go out in the up stairs of my house. As if that wasn't bad enough, the unit is in the closet in my room, right next to my drums. People came today during school to work on it and though I moved most of my kit to the other side of the room, there is still a small amount of saw dust accumulated around the rims and lugs on all the drums as well as some small, black specks that look like lent, but leave a smudge when wiped off.

My main question here is, how are you supposed to go about cleaning the shells and hardware of your drums without ruining them and what would anyone recommend about those spots since I can't wipe them up. My drums are white ice lacquer and chrome hardware, so I feel I need to be REALLY careful not to screw up that finish.

Thanks in advance.
