Haha - see what I did there?
More seriously - I've only ever played single-bass and the pedal I'm using now is a Gibraltar 4711SC Bass Drum Pedal, which came with the e-kit I'm using (a Yamaha DTX532k).
Being a novice - I know this is a very entry-level pedal but has generally held-up to my style of playing. It occasionally falls apart and squeaks a bit. What does a better (eg "more expensive) pedal get me that I don't have now?
Also, I'm wondering if upgrading a pedal will help me with a difficulty I have playing sixteenths. I have no problem playing, for example consecutive sixteenths going into the upbeat - where I play the &-ah going into the 2 in 4/4 time (shown in first attachment), but have a difficult time playing sixteenths going into the downbeat, where I'd play both the ah-3. I think my problem is foot positioning, not necessarily the pedal itself, and I think I also sit too-high on the throne - but I like to play "down" on the drums and my cheapie thrown seems like it's either going to be too high or too low, and given the choice I'd rather be higher.
Thoughts? Thanks for reading
