I have two remote hats made by pearl. Today i was playing and on my right one, i was pressing down on it, keeping it closed, and i felt something slip, my foot was able to move down slightly. I thought at first of course, that it was just the clutch had loosened and slipped a bit up the rod.
But that was not the case my cymbals were no further apart. But now, the pedal which i just mentioned, the resting footboard height is significantly lower than that of my other pedal, while they used to be the same.
I cant find any looseness anywhere in the pedal mechanism itself.
The foot board is just lower now.
Have any of you guys ever had any problem with this product or any other remote hi hat?
When it happened, it felt like the cam had twisted on its shaft, but i cant detect any looseness there at all.
everything seems to work alright, but im afraid i may be damaging something by continuing to use it. The difference in feel between my two hats is drastic now, my right foot needing to press down a lot lower in order to get the hats to close.
