Any Problems with switching the bottom head to the top?

vendredi 24 avril 2015

Hi there. I was wondering, if i was to take my bottom heads off of my toms, and put them on the top, and replacing the bottom heads appropriately, if this may cause any issues at all?

I recently changed all of the heads, both top and bottom on my kit. I went with Remo clear ambassadors on the bottoms, and black suede emperors on the tops. Well i think its about time to replace the top heads, but i have made the decision to stay away from remo.

So i would ideally like to swap out all the heads again, both top and bottom, but of course it seems a waste, the bottom heads are still very very usable.

My current plan is to replace all the bottom heads with Aquarian Classic Clears, and just bring the Remo clear ambassadors up to use as my new batters, and of course after those wear out, switch again the tops to maybe some other aquarians, and just keep the classic clears on the bottoms forever.

Anyway, my main question is if this will affect the performance of the heads at all. They have been on the bottom of the drum for maybe a 9 months, im assuming it has in some manner conformed to the bottom bearing edge? If i bring it to the top is the head still good as almost new?

Thanks for reading!
