Hello
Newbie drummer here. Started taking lessons recently and will be taking lessons at a local place soon.
20 years guitar player. Had my wifes PDP centerstage kit laying around so I thought hey this is fun. Ordered a Sabian Sr2 cymbal pack, tama iron cobra pedal, and got a new hat stand.
of course the GAS attack hit and I ordered a yammy stage custom. Dissappointed because the plys came in seperating so I had to send it back.
Went to GC and ended up with a PDP 7 Piece concept maple. Put some Evans G2 heads right away. Im generally happy with the sound but the lugs, tension rods, tom mounts just feel cheap to me. Some marks to the chrome, bolts dont turn super smooth, overall chrome job is cheesy when you look at it in detail. They sound great though
Being a guitar player for so many years im of the buy it once mentality. I have the chance to return these with no restocking fee and pick up something else. I am considering the Yamaha Live Oak Custom w/ the Zildijian K pack. Money overall wont be a problem, just need to move one of my guitars and that covers it.
Is it a faux paux that im a rank beginner wanting to get into a nicer kit ? Im a stickler for quality and just dont want to get hosed trying to sell this kit on the used market 6 months later
sorry for the rambling
Buyers Remorse ?
