Hey all! I put a tambourine on my hats yesterday and it got me doing some groove things that I normally wouldn't do (http://ift.tt/1E2BK1G) For the most part, I'm a metal/prog drummer, so this was new, and a lot of fun.
Down the the groove - I was trying to play something based around a paradiddle, but displacing a 16th note to add some bounce. I moved it around from hats, to floor tom, to the ride bell. I'm sure this groove has been done many times before, but I had fun with it.
I'd love for some of you to take that groove and make it your own, then post it as a "reply", that'd be super cool :) And while we're at it, any books that you guys would recommend for this style of groove playing?
