Have never used coated heads.

I am gearing up to get a new kit this summer and am looking to try some new heads. I was thinking some coated G2s over Evans new reso 7 heads. I was just wondering what I will be getting into. I assume that the drums will sound warmer but I am worried that I will lose some attack and punch. I was also thinking about using clear G2s over the reso 7s to gain the attack and punch. The sizes of the drums I am thinking of getting are 14 rack tom 16 floor tom and 24 kick. I already know what heads i'm gonna use on the kick, simple Emad and a white coated eq3. I had the option of getting an 18 inch floor tom instead of a 16 but i dont know about that. I've never had an 18 before so it's uncharted territory for me.
