What is it about music that makes musicians devote a great deal of their life to it? Surely for the vast majority it's not the financial reward. Working hard at a skill that exposes one's limits everyday then being forced to play on some crap backline kit that just doesn't suit you. Countless unpaid rehearsals. Drunks and cheap bar owners. Driving home late at night.
If you do "make it" you're hardly home, living out of a suitcase with really bad working hours and a dangerous lifestyle. Drugs and alcohol are rampant, it's an unhealthy lifestyle. People try and take advantage of you at every turn, then there's the whole piracy thing.
IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!
