So I am putting together a new kit over the next 6 months or so and starting to get ideas on cymbals. For reference I am getting a ludwig classic maple set and I am leaning towards Paiste for the cymbals. I also like the Zildjian K's though from listening to them.
I primarily play rock/alternative music and like the Paiste 2002 line but also can't stop looking at the Giant Beats. I'm concerned a bit about durability with the Giant Beats (not a real heavy hitter though). I have played the 2002's quite a bit in the past so I know what to expect with those. I have some experience with the Giant Beats but not a lot.
I'm fairly certain on 15" high hats and a 22"-24" ride. Crash wise I used to play on a 16" and 17" back in the day but I am leaning towards the 18"-19" range now. I want two crashes, high hats, and a ride. I threw the Zildjian K's out there since I did like a 22" light ride and a 18" crash I heard. I'm still leaning towards Paiste though.
I'm looking for opinions and maybe a little direction size wise. I plan to do more testing this weekend at my local shop. Thanks in advance!
