Hi folks, first post on these forums so apologies if it is in the wrong place!
Was just wondering the relation of shell thickness to the volume of the drum? I'm looking to get a thick metal drum (3mm+) and not hesitating on saying I'm going for sheer volume and cut!:) ive looked around at some cast brass such as the ahead 3mm bell brass however ive come across a drumcraft 6mm bronze. Does the volume increase as the shell gets thicker or does it just higher the pitch? I realise there is other components that = volume but just in General. Essentially looking for a monstrous back beat sound. Any suggestions would be great :) cheers!
