Set my Gretsch Catalina Maple kit up with some of my favorite cymbals.
I had to swap out the Evans G2 coated heads for Evans EC2 clear because the G2 coated were sounding very dead all winter in my cool basement. Funny thing is when I put those coated G2's on my Pearls they really came alive. Who knows? Probably due to the difference in the wood and shell thickness.

Cymbals:
Paiste T20 Prototype 20" Ride. I've read these T20's are really hit or miss but this one is a real hit.
Paiste Twenty 16" Crash
Dream Bliss 22" Crash Ride
Dream Bliss 13" Hats
Wuhan 10" Splash
I do plan on investing in a three mic setup but probably won't until late fall due to a big work project that requires more traveling than ever. Have to pay for my bad habits.
It's been decades since I had a mic on any kit. So I'm going to need a lot of good advice. I really just want to keep it as simple as possible. Looking for the most bang for my buck.
