Hi everyone, just joined this forum! Loving it!
I recently purchased the Aquarian deep vintage ll heads for my 14" and 16" floor toms (kit is a PDP Concept Maple 7 piece)
I've been having a lot of trouble tuning, just no matter what I do there's this high harmonic ring/overtone. The heads are in tune, it has all the tone, it pretty much sounds like a floor tom is expected to but with this high end harmonic ring. I can't hear it when I'm playing on the kit but its really loud if I'm standing in front of it. I've tried even tensions between heads, high batter low reso, low reso high batter, no matter what I do the ring is still there. I'm only so worries becuase I play in a church where the whole kit is mic'd (including toms) and I'm afraid the ring will cause feedback through the PA.
So again, the toms are PDP Concept maple, 14" and 16" floor toms, Aquarian Deep Vintage ll batter heads
, stock PDP reso heads. The drum kit is brand new, purchased from GC about 2 months ago
Anyone ever have anything like this? And recommendations?
