I have finally saved money to buy a drumkit with cymbals (my first drum kit!)
Initially I planned on getting an acoustic drum kit (I really really wanted to get one). But since I live in an apartment, I am sure it would only cause problems to neighbors. I don't want to come to a situation wherein I buy the drumkit and not end up playing it. So finally pragmatism struck (I guess) and I decided to go for an electronic drumkit as that would be more suitable for apartment playing.
Now, I play in a prog rock band and we jam in rehearsal halls that have acoustic drum kits. So I am thinking of getting a decent electronic kit (at the same budget as an acoustic kit) and buy proper cymbals for band practices (Sabian AAXs).
At my price point, one option that caught my eye was the Alesis DM7x advanced kit. Before I go and buy it, I just wanted to get your feedback on this model and your suggestions with respect to my scenario (apartment drumming).
