As a weekend warrior that is beginning to gig more frequently I am trying to find ways to make set up, and tear down and loading faster. I would love to hear others tips. I doubt any tricks I use are unique but who knows.
1- Tape on my rug to show where everything goes.
2- Sequence, I set up drums and pedals, then mics and cables, then cymbal stands and cymbals and finally overheads.
3- Keep unused length of mic cables coiled and carefully placed in order from input 1-8 and tear down in reverse order, helps prevent the massive tangled pile of cables.
4- Load my car so that I can get sequence one items above out first and set up so as to not clutter the stage and inconveniencing my band mates.
I hate taking my clutch off my top HH. But fear leaving it on in my canvas cymbal bag will cause a hole. Any thoughts?
Thinking about creating a new mic case that will let me keep the mics connected to the clip.
