Rods

I use rods mainly for home practice so as to keep the volume down just a little. The individual rods break quite easily so that they're pretty knackered after what seems like not a lot of use.



Is this common? I've only ever bought ProMark Hot Rods. I do get double the wear from them by taking the handle binding off, turning them around and binding the "frayed" end, but still ...



Is there a more durable brand, or am I abusing them or expecting too much of them?
