PA Gear for gigging

Hey drummers! in a new group still practicing, pre live gigging new to mics n stuff never used mics/mixers/pa due to size of venues etc but may need to the other guys don't want the drum mics plugged into their mixer/amp/pa due to problems in the past but are happy for me to have my own don't have a lot of money and obviously knowledge about wattage and other tech stuff what s the appropriate gear to buy I've been looking at pa systems with mixer/amp combined heading out to x2 pa speakers I'm not after a massive loud sound but in small venues i loose the low frequency bass drum and i want it back!!!! can some one help??!!! cheers don
