Just browsing - cool steel snares

I'm just toying with the idea of selling my chad smith and getting a nice (slightly deeper) steel snare. I played a show with a mapex venus 14x6.5 last night... it was actually mine but I sold it before the show just to free up some cash. I thought it performed really well. It had loads of depth and cut but it wasn't ear splitting like brass. The mapex sounded okay but I would like something more in the mid-range to high end if the price is okay.



Please throw some ideas my way.
