I've never entered a drum competition before but have decided to give this a try. I'm not thinking of it in a 'competitive' type way, I like the encouragement that it's giving to females to pick up the sticks.. There are loads of amazing videos being uploaded, it's inspiring and I'm excited to be involved.
The video is with my new band. I chose it because we’re really enjoying writing and playing music together, so it gives a good reflection of where I’m at musically just now, instead of as just a drummer. I shared this a little while ago when we were trying to score our first gig, unfortunately our bassist has left since then and we still haven't gigged, but it's going well with our new bassist so we hope to get out there asap.
