Gauger FlexFrame

I've read a few threads here about suspension mounting. Even on Facebook, someone argued the non-merits of Ludwig's new Atlas mount - he said it put too much strain on that part of the drum to really securely hang it. Someone here even asked what to do about using a rack tom in a snare basket - or more precisely, what snare stand is better for this, since some have better rubber tubing on the basket to help with isolation.

Well, I looked around the internet and found this Gauger-made product:

It's called the FlexFrame, and I'm sure some of you have seen this already or have been using it. I thought I'd try it out and have just ordered one for my 13" tom (used in a snare stand), and a 14" one for my snare drum. Relatively cheap (both cost me $79 with free shipping), from what I've read, this product should make a big difference for those of you who have rack toms in snare stands.

Is anyone here already using one? What are your thoughts? I figured I'd try it since it doesn't change my set-up. I already have Pearl's floating feet for my floor tom, and my bass drum just touches the ground at three points, so I'll try to spread the love to my other two drums. I'm hoping to hear more than subtle difference for the snare drum - I've never had one of those floating before.

This will make a nice addition to a kit with PowerStroke 4 heads tuned to the depths of hell ;)

I'll post a review when I get them.
