A few observations . . .
When I put new heads on my wood snare, I usually put on the batter first, and tune it to a fairly low tuning, which I like. when I put on the snare side, and crank it up, the pitch of the top head sounds higher, and I loose my low tuning. What effect does the pitch between the top and bottom have on each other? I like a very focused sound with little overtone.
How does the thickness of the snare side effect pitch/tone?
