Maybe I'm unusual, but some of my favorite times on the drums are just playing them by myself to loud music in my basement. I've done plenty of gigs, been in a number of bands and still do those things, but there is something to say about being at home, playing what & when you want and not having to please anyone but yourself. Hmmm, also sounds like my sex life.
