New Pedal Day... I tried a cheaper but well made Gibralter, I could never get it adjusted so I felt like I could play it well. In a single 30-45 minute adjustment period, including learning about the pedal, I am already surpassing my play with the old pedal. The DW 9000 appears to be "all that".
I'm happy with it. I knew I'd probably wind up with one eventually, but the double beat inconsistency with the Gibralter kept bothering me, so I acted sooner rather than later. Not all pedals are created equal, and not all pedals are best suited to all individuals. That is for sure.
Outside of maybe a cymbal stand top to convert my last Pearl stand over, there is nothing left for me to buy except more cymbals to play with and heads. Finally... I can focus on play and recording and my guitars.
