So, I have a chance to pick up an old Whitehall snare for $15. It's a 6-lug model, and from the pictures looks to be a 5.5x14. The wrap looks good and the internal muffler is still there. The strainer looks to be intact. I haven't heard it in person yet, only seen pictures. Whitehall was the early version of Pearl correct? Are these old MIJ snares any good? The lugs look just like old Slingerland lugs. The guy selling it doesn't know anything about it and just wants it gone.
6-Lug Whitehall?
