More Free Floater Fun - HHG 14x8 Maple/Walnut Stave Shell

I love deep snares. Out of curiosity I wanted to see what a 14x8 stave would sound like. I purchased a 14x8 maple/walnut stave from HHG drums on ebay. this shell is 3/4" thick with dual 45 degree bearing edges. I purchased longer tension rods and put this in my pearl floater chassis to create a massive 14x9.5 snare.



This thing produces a deep woody crack and looks cool to boot.
