Using non musical samples

I play drums in an unsigned thrash metal band.

For the last year we have been recording our first album. We have done everything ourselves and it has been a big task, but it is getting vary close. We are now in the last stages of mastering.

We want to use a sample from a video we found on Youtube in the intro of one of the songs on the album. It's a video of Charles Manson ranting. it looks like it is a news clip and has the CNN logo in it.

My question is if any of you have any experience using non musical audio samples on an album and if you do did you buy the copy rights for them or would something like this be covered under fair use laws?
