I bought a head for the Black Beauty as an experiment but it just did not suit the drum so I put it on the Carl Palmer Signature piccolo and wow does it ever work well. It is a Remo Power Stroke 3 and I am surprised at how good it sounds on the drum. The way I have it tuned it sounds like a combination of the brass with the snap of an Acrolyte. It does not sound like a piccolo at all and it really projects. It really does take some investment in experimenting to accidentally find a sound you like. Next purchase head wise will be an Ambassador X for the BB; regular Ambassador's sound great but the X has just a we bit more thickness.
My Ludwig Venus was not getting any love from me due to Black Beauty purchase
