1971 Ludwig Black Panther kit

I found a 1971 Ludwig kit (22, 12, 13, 16 - in the Black Panther finish) at my local music store and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. It's not completely original, but it's in great player's condition and they've got it listed for $800 and won't really budge on the price. If they were going to go any lower I was planning to jump on it, but they aren't budging. I don't necessarily NEED the kit (it would be my 3rd), but if it would still be a good investment at $800 I'm considering it. What would you do? Is $800 a good price? Thanks!
