Saturn V vs. Renown

Going to upgrade and I'm leaning towards these two kits. The Mapex is a 5pc with a 2nd FT at the same price as the Gretsch 4pc, so the Gretsch will be more $ for the config I like. I've researched both pretty well online and understand the differences in specs between the two, but unfortunately won't have an opportunity to play either of them or hear them live before buying. Most people on here seem pretty happy with whichever one very own. For you Gretsch players, at their price level do the Renowns really have "that Gretsch sound" that distinguishes their drums?
