On the weekend, my band played a gig. For two songs we were joined by a cellist (Into Temptation by Crowded House and Autumn Leaves by just about everybody).
The audience loved it, the cellist had a blast, and we enjoyed the new sounds we had. So much so that we're looking for other songs that include cello.
We play classic rock type stuff, but we're prepared to go mellower or rockier for the right song. So far I've come up with the following.
Sting – Shape of My Heart
Green Day – Time of Your Life
Oasis – Wonderwall
10,000 Maniacs – Because The Night (I know, originally Patti Smith)
Anybody have any other suggestions?
