Hey Guys,
I'm brand new here so figured I would introduce myself. As you can see by my completely un-original tag, my name is David. I am 48 yrs old, live in Sugar Land, Texas and have been playing drums since I was 14.................very badly! My first acoustic kit was a Remo pre-tuned piece of shit. I beat the hell out of it for 6 years and then traded it for dope (true story). My second kit was a used TAMA (unsure of the model) that was scratched, dented, warped, abused and ugly. I hated it and so did my wife at the time. I actually gave it away to a neighbor. I then purchased a Roland TD-8 in 2003 and started jamming with headphones for the last 10 or so years. My new wife (huge upgrade) plays Bass and Guitar and supports my hobby to the point she convinced me it was time for new kit. We sound proofed our Dining room and built our private music room (The Cave). I decided on a new Pearl Export with all Sabian XS20 cymbols and Evans G2 heads. We are always in the Cave these days! But, I suck! I can hold a beat, but my technique is bad, my left foot is retarded, and I have 3 way independence at best. I have completely started over with beginner lessons to train out the bad habits I taught myself. So far-so good! I am learning new beats quickly and have a completely different attitude towards practicing. I look forward to gaining some of you guy's knowledge. I need serious help with tuning and cleaning!
