I have recently upgraded from an Alesis DM6 to a Roland TD15KV and to say it’s fantastic would be an understatement! The only issue I’m having now which I didn’t before is with neck pain on my left side. It’s in the base of my neck and on the left side (the pic below shows where I’m experiencing the pain (ignore the green arrow on the right side I lifted the image from google). I have tried shifting around the snare and the hi hat with no success. Posture wise I feel like I’m always having to lift my left shoulder to strike the snare (to avoid the rim)– no matter how high or low I set it or even at a slight angle…. I sit relatively straight on with the Snare in front and pedals either side for hi hat and kick. I’ve watched many videos of drummers using the TD15KV in the hope of seeing what works and adjusting to try it with no success….. any suggestions on the cause of the pain (I may be looking at completely the wrong thing it could well be technique!!!
