Double-Bass Drum Setup Popularity - When Did It Begin?!?

mercredi 20 mai 2015

This might sound (or, rather...read like a stupid question but I have always wondered:

Just exactly when did using a double-bass drum setup become the most popular or, I guess, most used? Was it during the late 1960s and into the 1970s??? Because it seemed as though the use of the double-bass drum setup quickly began to die out....

Some of the people who are my favorite double-bass drum setup players are:

Ronnie Tutt

Artimus Pyle

Hal Blaine

Larry Londin (R.I.P.)

Steve Duncan (Rick Nelson, Desert Rose Band)

Lars Ulrich (I think he uses a double-bass setup?)

Animal!! (From The Muppets - I actually used to think of the legendary Ronnie Tutt as being like "Animal"). Oh, and I know that Animal's a puppet but I love him so much that I had to include him!"

Thoughts, anyone???
