The local Ma & Pa held a clinic last night featuring Brent "Beaston" Easton and John Blackwell. John Blackwell of Patti LaBell, Justin Timberlake, Prince, fame and Brent Beaston of Pure Star Movement, and J. Moss fame.
Not a lot of clinic but a lot of chops and skill. JB was playing a 1970's Yamaha kit, he has moved to Yamaha, and Beaston was playing a clear acrylic Crush set that was lighted, and had a clear wrap over it with a woodsy vibe. They put on quite a show with John playing then Beaston playing then the night ended with the two of them playing off of one another. About two and a half hours and really good sound with a light show, fog machine , to boot. Check out the Crush kit. Very interesting live.
