This is my first thread here on the site, so hello!
This is in regards to a lesser known cymbal company whose product is, in my opinion, very much a top of the line cymbal.
I found Saluda on facebook through Bill Bachman (fellow percussionist), who liked their page. After seeing a sale they had going on, I decided to check them out. After weeks of research (most recent info was in 2013), on the threads on all different drum groups, I couldn't find many negatives to the company. So I took a leap of faith and ordered two Nemesis crash cymbals. I spoke with Jamie and requested that the cymbals have an initial crash that cut like an A Medium-Thin crash with the dark, full warmth of the K Dark Customs. After impatiently waiting 2 weeks, I received my cymbals just before a private lesson I was giving. My student and I were blown away by the beauty alone. We got them put on my kit, and I heard two Zildjian sounds out of both of my new toys.
Folks, controversy in the past can be laid to rest. These guys are legit. The cymbals sound amazing. It's not a matter of opinion... because they will custom make the cymbal of your dreams. It is a one stop shop that seems to know other competitors cymbals well enough to find the sound in their own inventory. If you have issues, you're able to send it back for adjustments. AND they just added a lifetime warranty on cracks 1/2" or smaller.
Give them a call and let them know Dustin McLain sent you that way. Email tends to take a while for responses. Phone # is (803) 446-8000
The only way to know if you like them, is to take that leap of faith. They will not disappoint you with the service, look, or overall quality.
