Snare Drum made from Seamless Stainless Steel Pipe

vendredi 27 février 2015

In my line of work, I have access a lot of metal and piping. I decided to that I am going to experiment and make a snare drum out of 14” seamless stainless steel pipe. The thickness is 3/8” or roughly 9.5mm. The bearing edge will be a single 45 with a 1/8” (3 mm) radiused edge. The “shell” will be faced on the other end for fitment into a pearl free floating chassis. The shell depth is 7” making for an 8.5” overall depth once in the floater chassis. This will take a few weeks to get made and I will try and post a good video.
